Scar/Skin Camouflage Tattoo:

  • What are the medical benefits of medical tattooing?
    • Many people suffer from conditions causing skin pigment change of loss. This may be caused by autoimmune conditions (such as vitiligo), from accidental injuries (such as burns), surgical scars, or stretch marks. Once skin pigment is loss, it usually does not return; therefore tattooing the lighter skin, to match your natural skin tone allows for skin camouflage.
  • Is a consultation necessary for Scar/Skin Camouflage?
    • Yes. All individuals require an in-person consultation. This consultation requires a $100 deposit, which will be applied to the treatment balance. During the consultation, we will review past medical history and address questions or concerns.
  • Is Scar/Skin Camouflage tattooing painful?
    • There is some minor discomfort associated with the procedure. We recommend taking Tylenol (ONLY), prior to your appointment, to help with the discomfort. If needed, we also offer in-office pain and anxiety medications, but most patients find the procedure mildly uncomfortable and do not need additional pain medication.
  • Am I a candidate for Scar/Skin Camouflage tattooing?
    • This procedure is designed by blending skin-toned pigments to address scars, burns, birthmarks and other skin imperfections resulting from surgery or injury. Patients with lighter imperfections usually have better results, therefore- sometimes it is important to let a scar heal prior to treatment.
  • Are there any risks I should be concerned with?
    • As with any procedure, especially one that alters the skin barrier, there are always risks. The most common risk is infection. We provide all necessary precautions as outlined by the CDC and OSHA, including (but not limited to), Blood Born Pathogen and HIPPA education. In addition, we utilize single use needle tips, as well as other appropriate sterilization techniques.

3D Areola/ Nipple and 3D Belly Button Restoration

  • Is a consultation necessary?
    • Yes. All individuals require an in-person consultation. This consultation requires a $100 deposit, which will be applied to the treatment balance. During the consultation, we will review past medical history and address questions or concerns. We will also discuss the desired size/shape/color of your 3D tattoo.
  • Does 3D Restoration Tattooing hurt?
    • Most patients find that this procedure is minimally painful, and some patients may not feel any pain due to the altered sensation after surgical procedures.
  • How long is the 3D Restoration Tattoo procedure?
    • Once the correct pigment color is matched and agreed upon, the procedure is relatively quick. Single nipples can be completed in about 1 hour and bi-lateral nipples can be completed in about 2 hours.
  • How long do the results last?
    • Depending on skin quality, some patients may require a second treatment (3 weeks after first treatment). If patients follow post-treatment instructions, pigment placement is long-lasting. As with any tattoo, the pigment may fade over time. If fading occurs, patients can return for a follow up treatment

Skin Camouflage

Changes in skin pigmentation may be caused by a number of different factors, and many times after the pigment of the skin is altered it may never return to its original tone. Skin camouflage tattooing is a great option for blending altered pigment with your natural skin tone. If you are looking to conceal that childhood scar from falling, blend stretch marks, or minimize a surgical scar, skin camouflage tattooing is a great option.
